The API 600 Gate Valve is a kind of valve used to regulate the flow of pipeline medium. It is simple in structure, easy to manufacture, and low in price. API 600 Gate Valve can be used to connect or cut off the medium in the pipeline as long as the temperature does not exceed 400 °C. American API 600 Gate Valves are divided into three series: electric API 600 Gate Valves (including manual and pneumatic API 600 Gate Valves), electric three-way API 600 Gate Valves (including two-way and three-way API 600 Gate Valves), and electric double-seat API 600 Gate Valves (including single-seat two-way and two-seat three-way). Cutoff effect. API 600 Gate Valve is a commonly used shut-off valve that is primarily used to allow or prevent medium flow in a pipeline, ensuring flow resistance and smooth medium flow with no wrinkles or leakage.

Compared with the Ball Valve, the main advantages of the API 600 Gate Valve are: small opening height (generally 1/4–3/4 ball valve), reliable sealing, simple structure (hard sealing type), light weight, convenient manufacturing and maintenance, low cost, etc.

But it has a fatal disadvantage: under the action of the medium, the opening and closing torque is large (the opening force is 2 to 3 times the weight of the valve body), and the working condition is bad.

Globe valves are also known as API 600 gate valves or lift valves.

A Globe Valve is also called a vent valve, a cut-off valve, an exhaust valve, etc. The valve body, also known as a disc spring gate type seat, is typically stamped from a single piece of soft and hard moderate metal.Butterfly valves generally adopt integral hard alloy metal plate stamping for the valve body sealing surface, with reinforced , silicone rubber, stainless steel, and other materials for compounding. Sealing performance is reliable, with a long service life. The function of the API 600 Gate Valve is to cut off the medium in the pipeline; it is not allowed to be used as throttling. API 600 Gate Valves are divided into three structural forms: straight-through (gate board), right-angle, and three-way valves in the pipeline generally should be used alternately. The main parameters of the  API 600 Gate Valve include nominal size, working pressure, temperature, material (carbon steel or stainless steel), output form of switch quantity, flow characteristics, flow path characteristics, etc. Valve Design: The body of the API 600 Gate Valve may be integral or combined. which have a straight flange API 600 Gate Valve or a flange and thread connection API 600 Gate Valve, can also be made into electric drive devices

The API 600 gate valve is mainly made of stainless steel. Because of its excellent corrosion resistance, it is often used as a control valve for conveying media.

The stem threads shall be made of stainless steel or brass to avoid corrosion and failure. Stem nuts shall be made of PTFE or PTFE. Hoisting parts may be made of a variety of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials. Attention shall be paid to the use of the valve: before the operation of the valve, the relevant dimensions, medium temperature, pressure, and specifications of the valve shall be checked and adjusted, and special attention shall be paid to the protection of the sealing surface (see figure) so as to avoid the damage and destruction of the sealing surface.
